Why we are asking you to name our baby rhino

Look at her. Isn’t she cute? She’s also a handful!

Our newest baby rhino is keeping us on our toes. Her mom is suffering from mastitis so unfortunately she’s not able to produce enough milk for her newborn, which means we’ve stepped up to the task of rearing the little one ourselves. This includes bottle feeding every two hours and making sure this bundle of joy is getting all she needs to grow up healthy and strong.

The only thing is, we can’t keep calling her Baby. So we thought, why don’t we ask you, our Rockwood community, to help us name her?

What's in it for you?

If we choose your baby rhino name, you’ll stand the chance to win a Rockwood hamper filled with a few exclusive goodies from our reserve (TBC).

Plus, we’re sure you’ll be chuffed to follow “Baby” on Instagram when we launch her very own profile under her chosen name.

How to submit your Baby Rhino Name?

Simply fill in the form above before [ADD DATE], sharing your name suggestion with a brief description of why you picked it. Then check your email for a few updates on how “Baby” is doing and, of course, for the big name reveal.

Want to support hand-rearing our baby rhinos?

Our baby rhinos need your help. Every day they face the very real threat of poachers looking to kill their mom and dad for rhino horn. Without their moms to care for them, they cannot survive. Please support Rockwood and help protect our rhino families.
