You may wonder, how can my contribution make a real difference in saving an entire species? So let’s focus on just one rhino. His name is Survivor, and as a baby, a poacher shot him. Luckily, he survived, and today he is ready to start his own family.
When you help us protect Survivor, you play an integral role in adding to our growing population of baby rhinos. You will not only save Survivor, you will help save the rhino species.
“Against all odds, you can make a difference. You can make a change.”- Wicus Diedericks, Rockwood founder
An adult white rhino like Survivor eats up to 120 pounds of grass a day. But since a severe drought has hit us, our rhinos don’t have enough to graze on. So we truck in tons of feed every month. That’s a hefty grocery bill. And it’s just one of the many rising costs we have to cover. Your donation will help us save the rhino.
Looking after Survivor, and his fellow rhinos is the most fulfilling things we have ever experienced. We’re sure you’re going to feel the same way when you join Rockwood as a conservation volunteer. You’ll get to stay with us for two weeks, interact with our gentle giants, and leave knowing you have helped save the rhino.
We don’t often read about the critical work scientists and vets are doing to help save the rhino. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to achieve our phenomenal 15% annual growth in rhino population. We invite organisations and universities to carry out wildlife research at Rockwood so we can all benefit from information exchange.
